How a month closes
Each month closes by the 10th of the next month, once your statements are in and your questions are answered. Until then it’s in progress and the numbers can still move.
The monthly rhythm
- By the 5th: you send last month’s statements.
- In between: your bookkeeper books every line and asks about anything unclear in Needs you. An accountant reviews every transaction.
- By the 10th: the month closes and your numbers show up on the dashboard.
Where your month stands
- Open Dashboard.
- It shows the last month closed, and any month still in progress.
- A closed month shows who closed and checked it.
What holds a month up
- A statement that hasn’t come in.
- Questions waiting in Needs you.
- A statement that didn’t add up and needs sending again.
Numbers for a month still in progress can change. Wait for it to close before you rely on them.
