Estimated quarterly taxes
Taxes shows what to send the IRS each quarter and when. You pay it yourself through IRS Direct Pay, or EFTPS for a C corporation, then tap I paid it.
The due dates
| Quarter | Due |
|---|---|
| First | April 15 |
| Second | June 15 |
| Third | September 15 |
| Fourth | January 15 of the next year |
A date on a weekend moves to the Monday. We text and email you seven days before each one.
How to pay
- Open the menu, tap Taxes, and find Estimated taxes.
- Tap IRS Direct Pay. It’s free, takes your bank account, and needs no sign-up. Pick Estimated Tax, then 1040ES, then the year.
- A C corporation pays through EFTPS instead. Enroll once with the EIN, and the PIN comes by mail in about a week.
- Pay the amount shown and keep the confirmation number.
- Back in Goatkeeper, tap I paid it and enter the amount and the day.
Good to know
- It’s an estimate, not a bill. When your accountant sets a number, their number is the one you see.
- These are federal only. If your state wants estimates too, your accountant sets those up with you in the chat.
- Paying late? Paying now keeps the late charge small.
