Sending your tax documents
Answer a few yes or no questions under Taxes and you get a list of only the documents you need. Upload each one, or mark I don’t have this.
Building your list
- Open the menu at the top right and tap Taxes.
- Answer the short list of questions, like whether you worked a job with a paycheck or had investment income.
- Your list shows only the documents your answers call for: W-2s, 1099s, a 1098, a K-1, and so on.
Uploading them
- Next to each document, tap to upload a PDF or a clear photo of the paper.
- On iPhone you can Take a photo or Choose from Photos.
- If one doesn’t apply after all, tap I don’t have this.
- Something else you think we should see? Upload it under Anything else.
When we need them
- By February 15 for a business that files its own return, due March 15.
- By March 15 for your personal return and any other return due April 15.
- Most forms arrive in January and February. Upload each one when it comes.
If something isn’t in by then, we file an extension so you’re not late. An extension gives more time to file, not more time to pay.
