Help / Security and privacy
Privacy and your data
Your books and documents are encrypted and seen only by the people working on them. We never sell your information, and you can ask for a copy or deletion any time.
Who sees your books
- Your bookkeeper and your accountant, because that’s the job.
- A short list of outside services that each do one job, like storing files or sending email. The privacy page names every one.
- Access inside Goatkeeper is limited to the people on your account, and it’s logged.
How it’s protected
- Encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Bank connections are read-only, and we never see your bank password.
- Commas holds your card or bank details. We never see them.
- Turn on two-step sign-in for one more lock on the door.
Your tax information
Federal law limits how a tax preparer uses and shares your tax information. You choose which services may handle it when you sign the consent, and you can see it under Agreements and take it back by emailing goat@goatkeeper.io.
Asking for a copy or deletion
- Write to goat@goatkeeper.io, or ask in the chat.
- We confirm within thirty days.
Tax law expects us to keep your books and returns for seven years after your last filing. Anything we’re not required to keep, we delete when you ask.
Still stuck? Message your team in the app, or email goat@goatkeeper.io. A real person answers.
